stamp set: Thanks for Caring (retired); ink - Blackberry Bliss; card stock - Blackberry Bliss, Perfect Plum; Big Shot with Deco Labels framelits and Stylish Stripes embossing folder
I was starting to feel in a rut, though, with purple sympathy cards (yes, I'm mailing yet another tomorrow and running low again). So, I revisited the whole thing, this time using some brighter colors and a happier theme:
stamp set - Wild about Flowers; ink - Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss; card stock - Hello Honey, Very Vanilla, Lost Lagoon; Big Shot with Stylish Stripes embossing folder and Ovals framelits
Hi Kathe, subtle or not, a stripe is a stripe. The embossed diagonal stripes work very well with your design. Love that framed sentiment, cut with the Deco Labels framelits. That adds so much elegance. Thank you very much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sympathy card Kathe, and I think the subtle stripes look great! Thanks for joining us this week at Just Add Ink :)
ReplyDeleteSympathy cards are never easy to make and I always struggle with how intricate to make them. This has an elegant simplicity that says just what it needs to say.
ReplyDeleteThanks for playing along at the Watercooler.
A lovely clean card Kathe. The stripes add the perfect texture. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteLove your cards - I love to use purple and not just for sympathy cards -

ReplyDeleteI really like both cards, Kathe! The embossed striping has a very soothing look on the sympathy card, and the striping with washi tape (?) is very cheery! Thanks for joining in this week's Watercooler Wednesday challenge. ~Deborah
ReplyDeleteKathe, I really like both of the cards! I saw the first one when you posted it on facebook and came over to tell you.
ReplyDeleteHello Kathe! You are not alone (sending sympathy cards - seems I've been doing the same the last few weeks :( ) As for your cards, they are wonderful and stripes being embossed or with the washi tape still qualifiy as meeting the Tic Tac Toe line. Well done. Thank you for playing with my Tic Tac Toe Challenge with Watcooler Wednesday Challenges. - Leanne DT
