tecnique and celebration adventures

I've been enjoying playing with the techniques at Technique Tuesday, including this month's Smackin' Acetate.  Mynette does such a nice job of demonstrating, and then there are extra tips later in the month.  When I decided to try it, I pulled out the same stamp set I used for both of the previous two techniques I learned from that site - maybe I should add that as a self challenge, see how many of the techniques I can use with just this stamp set:

stamp set - Wetlands; ink - Island Indigo; Stampin' Write Markers - Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake; card stock - Naturals White, Soft Sky

I used  a piece of acetate cut from some packaging, and we also used that at Card Buffet.  You may have seen this technique done using acrylic stamp blocks, as well, but then the name isn't quite as much fun.  I tried it on a block and found that they both work well.  For this card, I preferred to work on the flatter surface provided by the acetate.

Now that I see the card in a photo instead of in person, I think the sentiment should be to the left, under the spot where there are no birds.

I found another challenge site I hadn't seen before - Stampin' Celebration - and I love the purple polka dot party photo, so I made this card  for Card Buffet:
stamp set - Label Love; ink - Elegant Eggplant; card stock - Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant, Certainly Celery (retired); designer series paper - In Color stack (retired); punch - Artisan Label; 1/8" organdy ribbon - Lucky Limeade (retired);  accessories - Big Shot with Stylish Stripes embossing folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

Although some of my supplies are retired, I think Pear Pizzazz would be perfect paired with the Elegant Eggplant, I just didn't have any...
