bee thankful for adventures

This week the prompt at Stamp, Ink, Paper is for black and white with one color - the perfect reason to put this stamp to work (especially since, as a beekeeper, I *had* to buy it as soon as I saw it in the catalog!):

It's been quite some time since I played along at Stamp, Ink, Paper but it wasn't intentional.  My feed reader stopped picking up their posts and I didn't notice for a while (probably because I have more than 65 challenge blogs in my list!).  I have to remember to actually type the address into the browser window, and that took me another while to get used to.  Now that I've got my act together I'm hoping to be back more regularly!

sketch adventures

One of my coworkers is a beekeeper, and when we see each other throughout the week we usually chat about our beekeeping adventures.  He and his wife are also just starting an even more exciting adventure with the birth of their first child!  I wanted to make a card that would be unique, and I found just the sketch at Seize the Sketch:

Not only handmade, but totally unique - they're not likely to see another card like this, ever. {grin}  Which is only fair, I think, since their daughter's name is very unique.

I also wanted to get one more Christmas card made for my self-challenge (how many consecutive days can I make a Christmas card). I found this awesome card on Pinterest earlier this week and really wanted to CASE it.  When I clicked through the link, I found it was a challenge card in the Operation Write Home, Labor Day Weekend Virtual Card Making Party! and the link-up is still active - woohoo!  Here's my version:

Tonight's card (#13) is the final installment of "keeping up with Christmas adventures", as we're heading to Milwaukee tomorrow afternoon for the Frank Mots Family Kite Fest.  I didn't plan ahead to take card kits with me, so there will be no card making in my little section of Veteran's Park.  If you're in the area, stop by at the bubble machine to say hello, though!
