Christmas inspiration adventures

I've been reading card maker's blogs for nine or ten years now (Wow! really!) since becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  Some things I learned during that time are: A) put a bird on it and B) glitter makes everything better.  I've just been struggling recently to find inspiration and to get cards made.  Neither of those maxims have helped, but for me one thing is sure: if all else fails, make a Christmas card.  First, I tried a floral for Jingle Belles:

stamp set - Stylish Christmas; ink -Merry Merlot, Shaded Spruce, Sahara Sand; card stock - Whisper White, Sahara Sand; other - metallic sequins
Because I was lacking inspiration, I turned to the annual catalog and CASEd (Copy And Share Everything) this card.  I didn't want to hand cut the poinsettia three times, so I changed that aspect and the colors.

Then, gingerbread for Christmas Cards All Year Round, using a stamp set I bought only because I love the little gingerbread cookie:
stamp sets - Cookie Cutter Christmas, Itty Bitty Greetings; ink - Real Red, Soft Suede; card stock - Call Me Clover, Whisper White, Soft Suede, Real Red; punches - Cookie Cutter builder, Decorative Ribbon border; Big Shot with Tufted and Subtle dynamic embossing folders and Stitched Shapes and Layering Ovals framelits

Still sadly lacking inspiration, I adapted the card sketch from an advertisement for a card making kit club.  Not sure how I'm going to spend the evening tonight, but it may be browsing the internet for ideas.
