adventure with Christmas treats & critters

When I saw this cute Christmas mouse Julie Kettlewell made, I wanted one, too!  I don't have the paper she used - I think she used all current supplies - but I have some retired paper I thought would work.  I sorted through the retired paper box and found these gingerbread houses that were exactly what's called for - holiday food, at Jingle Belles and gingerbread, at Christmas Cards All Year 'Round:
stamp sets - Cookie Cutter Christmas, Scentsational Season (retired), Seasonal Bells (retired); ink - Early Espresso, Real Red; card stock - Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White; designer series paper - Candy Cane Lane (retired); punch - Cookie Cutter builder; Big Shot with Holiday Collection framelits (retired) and Sweet & Sassy framelits (retired)

When I found the paper I was thinking of, the reverse side had this colorful owl print, which made me think of the prompt for Christmas critters at Cardz for Guyz:
stamp sets - Itty Bitty Greetings, Cozy Critters (hostess, retired); ink - Soft Suede, Primrose Petals (retired); card stock - Whisper White, Primrose Petals (retired), Baja Breeze (retired), Gumball Green (retired); designer series paper - Snow Festival (retired); punches - Duet Banner, Owl Builder (retired); Big Shot with Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes framelits

And, finally, I also made one of those adorable mice:
stamp set - Itty Bitty Greetings; ink - Gumball Green (retired), River Rock (retired) Basic Black; Stampin' Write marker - Basic Black; card stock - Gumball Green (retired), River Rock (retired), Whisper White (regular and thick), Blushing Bride; designer series paper - Snow Festival (retired); punches - 1/2" circle, 3/4" circle, Duet Banner, Fox Builder; Big Shot with Layering Circles and Stitched Shapes framelits

You can see that I repeated Julie's layout, with only minor modifications, each time. It made decision-making a bit easier, and believe me, there were too many decisions involved in the colors for that owl card!
