adventures in oz

And now for something a little different...
stamp sets - Post Card (retired), Post Script, unknown Oz stamp; ink - Blueberry Bushel; card stock - Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Blueberry Bushel
Bright, isn't it?  I was going for the feeling you got when you first watched the movie, The Wizard of Oz, and Dorothy left the black & white drabness of Kansas and woke up in the Technicolor land of Oz.  My mother was born in 1933, when movies were black & white.  The Wizard of Oz was her favorite childhood movie memory.  When I was young, most television was black & white; after color sets became available The Wizard of Oz was a special, annual affair.  I remember watching it as a neighborhood gathering at one family's house - 6 adults and 9 children - and there was a collective gasp of awe when that color burst onto the screen.

I was at a paper craft roadshow last year and found this little stamp - I had to have it!  I would have sworn I was at the Lost Coast Designs and Carmen's Veranda booth, but the stamp isn't in their catalogs, so who knows where I found it?  If you know, please tell me!  Whoever made the stamp, it's perfect for the current challenge at Lost Coast Portal - Follow the Yellow Brick Road.

This is fabulous Kathi, what a fun childhood memory, I still remember our first colour TV, it was as big front to back as the screen lol. Thank you so much for joining in with our Oz challenge, and have a very happy weekend, Sue xx

Cute post card and love your interpretation. I remember the first time I saw the movie as a child and the “Ahh!” Moment when it goes from B&W to color. Thanks for joining the Lost Coast Design Challenge.

Very cute postcard and I love the Oz stamp. Linda says it is from Carmen's Veranda, so you remembered correctly. Thanks for joining the fun at the Lost Coast Portal to Creativity. Hugz
