a patriotic Christmas adventure

I know, Christmas isn't supposed to be patriotic, but maybe I've mentioned how challenges work together for me?  First, Jingle Belles asked for stars and/or stripes, then Retro Rubber gave us some red, white, and blue inspiration, and today (US Independence Day) Little Red Wagon prompted us for Christmas in July.  All I needed was a sketch, and for the fifth week of the month, Sketch Saturday gives us our choice; 276 was perfect!
stamp set - Star Santa (retired); ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Night of Navy; Stampin' Blends - Cherry Cobbler dark, Night of Navy light and dark, Smokey Slate light and dark; Wink of Stella - gold (retired), clear; card stock - Whisper White, Real Red;  Big Shot with Stars framelits (retired), Scalloped Oval Frame Bigz die (retired) and Stripes embossing folder (retired)

I can't tell whether the embossed stripes are visible in the photo, but they look great in person. :)  I have no idea how old the stamp set is, because it was retired when I bought it in 2009 or 2010.  I saw a card done with it shortly after I became a demonstrator, and I wanted it so much I went looking for it on Etsy.  I still love it!

What a perfect combination of challenges. I'll admit that Christmas wasn't the first thing that came to my mind from the inspiration photo but those colours work a treat with your Santa. Thank you for joining in with us at Retro Rubber Challenges.

How very clever - combining all the challenges to create this perfect Christmas card. I love the stars above your fun Santa. Thanks for playing along with us at Retro Rubber this time. Claire DT
