another Earth Day adventure with Jingle Belles

Don't you just hate it when an easy-going, no-pressure schedule suddenly gets jammed full of emergencies?  My credit card was compromised yesterday, so I had to call the fraud department, cancel the card and request a reissue in the middle of an unexpected major issue at work that must be corrected in less than  seven days; meanwhile, at home, my PC stopped connecting to the internet.

I made this card and photographed it a week ago, then immediately uploaded the photo to my PC and deleted it from the camera.  Yes, the PC that wouldn't connect to the internet.  aargh   Everything seems to be under control for now, so maybe you'd like to see the card:
stamp set: Wondrous Wreath; ink - Mint Macaron, Versamark; Stampin' emboss powder - silver; card stock - Mint Macaron, Silver Foil; designer series paper (not really) - wrapper from 2015 Occasions Catalog; Big Shot with Wonderful Wreath framelits

This is my second card for Peace on Earth (Day) at Jingle Belles.  Speaking of Earth Day, I noticed this evening that all my Trivia Crack questions are Earth Day related.  Is that ever cool!  Another really cool thing is that the background paper (not really designer series paper) on this card was the inside of the paper wrapper on the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  I liked the design and the color, so I saved it, but it didn't really match anything, so I stored it in one of my boxes of miscellaneous papers that don't really match anything but can probably be used for something, sometime.  I found it when I was looking for something to recycle for this prompt.  I looked again at the color and decided it matches the 2015-2017 In Color, Mint Macaron, that was released the month the Occasions Catalog expired.  Well, isn't that tricky!

The wreath is a two-step stamp, and I stamped the first layer in Mint Macaron.  I brushed the whole thing with my Embossing Buddy, but evidently not well enough, before stamping the highlight leaves with Versamark and pouring on Silver Stampin' Emboss powder.  The mint leaves have an unintended sprinkling of embossing powder.  I really like it, and just wish I could do it again, intentionally, but I don't think I want to press my luck this week.

Great idea recycling that occasions catty, I save mine for inspiration especially if I have one of the stamps that are in it. You have to love it when there is a happy accident with embossing powder that makes a lovely card. Sorry about all your troubles this week that's three so you should be good for a bit.

So lovely! A brilliant upcycle; I'm so glad you saved it...it was meant for this challenge. And your unintended embossing? Gorgeous.
