This is not what I envisioned when I first thought to combine the challenges from Jingle Belles, Sketch Frenzy Friday, and 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown.
stamp sets - Petite Pairs, Ornament Keepsakes; ink - Silver Encore, Versamark; Stampin' Emboss powder - Irridescent Ice; card stock - Cherry Cobbler, Silver Foil, Whisper White; punch - 2-3/8" scallop circle; Big Shot with Holiday Ornaments framelit; silver 1/8" ribbon; Stampin' Dimensionals, sponge dauber
I wanted a poinsettia embossed in silver, but I forgot that I haven't brought my Joyful Christmas stamp set from the house to the condo. I had to go find the older heat tool, since the new one was removed for cleaning & storage. Irridescent Ice was not a good choice for embossing powder, on vellum, with an unfamiliar heat tool - too hard to tell when it had melted. I don't remember why I didn't stay with silver, maybe I thought that not enough vellum would show? At least I didn't scorch the vellum, but then I thought (incorrectly, as you can see) that the embossing would not allow the glue to show through. sigh
Still, I think someone may still appreciate receiving a "handmade with love" card in December, and I will appreciate having some cards made in advance - I have three, so far ;/

PS: I'd love for you to hop over to my blog--I've got some blog candy up for grabs! :)
well i, for one, think this is LOVELY and a great take on our "RED" prompt at JINGLE BELLES! but i can soooo totally relate to things NOT turning out like one has intended! (on the plus side, the happy recipients... and they WILL be happy to get this... won't be able to see the "perfect" picture in your head, just the lovely reality, which is more than enough!!!) <3
Someone will always appreciate a handmade with love card ... so glad you went *red* with us at jingle belles.
You've done a great job in what sounds like difficult circumstances. I really like the metallic banner.
Thanks for joining us at 52CCT this week.

Cherry Cobbler is one of my favorite reds. Pairing it with silver gives your card a very elegant feel! Thanks for sharing your work with us at 52{C}CT. :)
