piled-on autumn adventures

I didn't notice a common theme in the Sunday funnies this week, but the common theme in card challenges was easily autumn and/or leaves, including at Pile It On!  I started with the sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday, with it's twist of Autumn in the Air, but I think the stamp I chose is too large to give me the clean and simple look I was trying for:

stamp sets - Express Yourself (hostess), Gently Falling; ink - Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze; card stock - Sahara Sand; designer series paper - Sweater Weather; punch - Full Heart

I was trying for clean and simple because they're looking for fall colors & a leaf at CAS-ual Fridays, for autumn/fall at Addicted to Clean and Simple and for clean and simple at Addicted to Stamps and More.  I decided to try again, using fewer colors - from Nacho Average Challenges - and a sketch from Fab Friday whose elements were more similar in size to my chosen stamp:
stamp sets - Gently Falling, Loving Thoughts; ink - Cajun Craze, Early Espresso; card stock - Pool Party; Simply Scored, Stampin' Dimensionals

That's more like what I had in mind!

Such a fun, clean and simple idea, yet so effective...the leaves almost look like they've been drawn with crayon - gorgeous card Kathe! Thanks for joining us at CAS-ual Fridays!

I really like how you stamped the 4 leaves right onto the card front instead of making separate panels for them. The embossed lines framing the sentiment give just the right accent to the sentiment! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!

KatheD,
I love your autumn cards. They are both gorgeous. Love the colors, the leaves, and the layouts. What a great job with our sketch. I love the dry embossing, to give the sentiment designated place.
Thank you for playing along with us @ NAC.
