keeping up with Christmas adventures part 3

I love my new Festive Flurry stamp set and framelits, and I love the way they coordinate with Winter Frost designer series paper.  But, if I make all my snowflakes in the Pool Party - Island Indigo - Coastal Cabana colors I will be very tired of all of them long before Christmas.  So, when I saw and wanted to recreate Susan Itell's great card, I wondered well, what other colors work for snowflakes, anyway?  White, obviously, silver, yes, oh what about purple?  Purple snowflakes...wasn't there a song about Pretty Purple Snowflakes? Yes, there was, so it was stuck in my head for a couple of days while I worked on Friday's card:
stamp sets - Christmas Messages, Festive Flurry; ink - Elegant Eggplant, Versamark, Wisteria Wonder; Stampin' emboss powder - Iridescent Ice; card stock - Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder; Big Shot with Festive Flurry Framelits and Adorning Accents edgelit; Stampin' dimensionals

Saturday we went shopping.  Tom needed a part for one of his RC planes, and it meant a trip to Fort Wayne.  There's a Tuesday Morning across the parking lot, where I was able to pick up another set of the closet hangers I like and haven't seen since the Tuesday Morning in Battle Creek closed.  I also found this garden flag for $4:
Isn't it funny that it's "the greeting card of your home"?  I thought it would be nice for the Labor Day holiday, so it's hanging at the end of the drive today. I also thought it would work for a greeting card, but I didn't have time to make two cards, so it was going to have to be a Christmas card for day #8 of my self-challenge:
stamp sets - Festive Flurry, Pennant Parade, Sassy Salutations, Woodgrain; ink - Encore Silver, Pacific Point, Real Red, Versamark, White (craft); Stampin' emboss powder - White; card stock - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Pacific Point, Real Red, Smoky Slate; Stampin' sponges

Besides the new Festive Flurry stamp set, I also unwrapped my new Encore Silver ink pad for this one, so I think it will work for Christmas Card Challenges this week.  Now, I better get busy with today's card, and it needs to be something a little simpler, since it's getting late!
