wacky watercooler adventure

I just love blog hops - it's fun to see many different ideas in one "cruise" by simply clicking through.  At the end of my post, you'll be able to go Back if you missed Deb's creations at Stamp and Create, or to Kath's projects at All That Scrap, the Next stop. I've met many wonderful Stampin' Up!® demonstrators at our forum, Stampin' Connection.  One of my favorite places to hang out there is the Wacky Watercooler, where we chat about more topics than you can imagine (sometimes even about stamping).  We've had a great time recently, wishing and sharing ideas about the stamps, ink and paper in our new annual catalog, and now we'd like to share some of those ideas with you!

This card was one of the make-and-take projects from Stampin' Up!® annual Convention last week, using stamp sets that were FREE for those of us who attended, but I made mine a little differently:

stamp sets - Gorgeous Grunge, Hello Lovely; Stampin' Write marker - Calypso Coral; classic ink - Crisp Cantaloupe, Island Indigo, Old Olive, Pool Party, Summer Starfruit; card stock - Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Pool Party Core'dinations, Silver Glimmer, Whisper White; accessories - Epic Day washi tape, Island Indigo baker's twine, Pool Party button (retired); Stampin' sanding system
I've never been happy with my work in this collage style before, but I like this card, and the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set made it easy.  If you'd like to try, it's one of the cards available at my Card Buffet Thursday/Saturday this week.  If you don't live nearby, be sure to contact your demonstrator to order the stamp set!

I used my favorite embossing folder and new stamp set (which I've used so often you may not believe it is new) to make this card using the color combination from Dynamic Duos Challenge; but since the link closed at noon today, you can only see my card here (or on the Card Buffet):
stamp set - Six-Sided Sampler; clasic ink - Basic Black, Calypso Coral; card stock - Basic Black, Calypso Coral, Naturals Wite, Whisper White; accessories - Big Shot with Honeycomb embossing folder, Stampin' Dimensionals

Although the stamp set I used below isn't new, it is avalable in the 2013-2014 annual catalog. I saw this card on Pinterest and made just a couple of slight changes:
stamp set - You're Amazing; classic ink - Soft Suede; card stock - Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla; designer series paper - Epic Day; accessories - Big Shot with Apothecary Accents and Windows framelits, Naturals 7/16" ribbon trim, Festive paper piercing pack with paper piercing tool and mat, Stampin' sponge

That grunge set is wonderful, isn't it? What a terrific collection of shapes and colours in your design.

Hi Kathe, love the cards! I'm waiting for my grunge set. It should be here at the beginning of next week and I can hardly wait. It's just a bunch of fun shapes that ask to be splashed all over paper---and I think that's what I like about the set. Love your collage! Love the Six-Sided Sampler set, too, and used it myself for this hop. What's not to like about hexagonal shapes?

Kathe - you make grunge look...well...gorgeous! I loved the simplicity and fun style of the others as well. Love the other two projects too but this first one captured my heart. In combination with Hello Lovely and my favorite Epic Day This and That products what's not to love!

Thanks for being a memeber of the hop. See you around the watercoooler.
