family adventures

I thought I'd put up a quick post to prove I still can {insert wry chuckle here}.  We were in Colorado last weekend visiting the Cutest Grandson in the Known World -
- and, as usual, I came home with a cold.  (Or the flu.  I can't tell the difference.)  I don't know if it's the elevation, or the air travel, or just toddler germs, but I was ill after the trip we made in March, too.  So I've had only enough energy to get to work and come home, where I spent evenings on the sofa with solitaire, or on the loveseat watching television.

Cutest Grandson in the Known World's parents are buying a house, and they took us on a little tour.  We wanted to help out with some of the things they'll need so I made them this card to enclose a check:
stamp sets - Daring Adventure, Summer Silhouettes; ink - Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Versamark; card stock - Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Very Vanilla; 7/8" cotton ribbon Natural; Big Shot with Ovals die and Labels Collection framelit, sponge dauber
I used the yummy color suggestion from The Play Date Cafe of Cinnamon (Cajun Craze), Squash (More Mustard), Sage (Always Artichoke) and Vanilla.  Makes you hungry for an autumn harvest family dinner, doesn't it?

I have a Llama swap due and I was browsing through all the challenges I fell behind on looking for ideas. I found this great sketch at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown:
stamp sets - More Merry Messages, Scentsational Season; ink - Chocolate Chip, Gumball Green; card stock - Gumball Green, Very Vanilla; designer series paper - Be Of Good Cheer; Big Shot with Bitty Banners, Holiday Collection and Labels Collection framelits and Chevron and Perfect Polka Dots textured embossing folders, Pearls basic jewels, Stampin' Dimensionals, sponge dauber

It's not what I want for my swap, but it is a good card for my growing collection of greetings that will be mailed out the beginning of next month!  Seriously, how did it get to be November already?
