adventures in acceptance

That catching up thing?  Not so much...  The laundry is almost done, and we took a card (with cash in lieu of a gift) to the graduation open house (yes, it was a card I made).  That's about it for my weekend.  Sunday morning was the annual Fly-In Pancake Breakfast at the county airport.  It was an outstandingly beautiful day and it looked like a good turn-out.  Afterwards Tom thought he needed to participate in his RC club electric fly, so I spent some time in one of my favorite spots:
See that chair, in the shade, behind the oh-so-fragrant lilac bush?  MmmHmm.  I'm not very good at relaxing, never have been, but it was working for me Sunday.  Nice.

Monday, having not given up yet, I mowed about half of my half of the lawn, did some more of the laundry, created my card for this week at the Less is More challenge, made two baby shower cards for Heather & Andrew and got their gifts packaged.  Today I went out for dinner with my friends from high school, a monthly tradition for us.  I meant to finish my half of the lawn and the laundry this evening, as well as post the card and send out my (six days late) Stampin' Up! newsletter.  Uh huh.  So this is where acceptance comes in, as I'm going to have to accept that I will not be caught up.  It didn't happen over the weekend, it didn't happen Monday or tonight and the rest of the week isn't looking good, either.

But I did photograph one of the cards I made for the shower gifts (it was late, I totally forgot to photograph the second card, and it was the better one - yeah, you'll just have to trust me on that):

The stamp is from the Stampin' Up!® (of course) Hostess set A Slice of Life; it's not available but not retired yet.  Does that really make sense?  Heather already has a collection of onesies, so it seemed like the right choice.  Unfortunately it cries out to be colored, and my coloring skills are not something to show off.  How can it be that I was better at coloring when I was in grade school?  It couldn't just be that my memory has enhanced said skills in retrospect...
