It's January, and you know what that means - time to start making Christmas cards! It makes me happy that there are other like-minded crafters out there, especially the Jingle Belles, who have prompted us to make cards featuring wrapping paper or gift tags. I've had this beautiful poinsettia tissue paper for a while. I may have been hoarding it, but I wrap more gifts for men than for women, and I didn't think they'd love it as much as I do. It made me smile when I found a gift under the tree for me, wrapped by my husband using the paper. Of course I had to save the paper after I opened the gift. It will probably make an appearance in the altered book/art journal I started last year, but there was more than enough to go around, so I made two cards:
stamp sets - Christmas Pines, Timeless Tidings (retired, on envelope); ink - Versamark; Stampin' Emboss powder - gold; card stock - Poppy Parade, Gold Foil, Whisper White (as support); tissue paper of unknown origin; punch - Pretty Label (trimmed)
stamp sets - Better Together, Timeless Tidings (retired, on envelope); ink - Shaded Spruce; card stock - Whisper White, Shaded Spruce; tissue paper of unknown origin; Big Shot with Layering Circles framelits
I adhered the tissue paper to the Whisper White card stock using plastic wrap and my iron. I've used the technique in the past, but it was probably more than a year ago. I spent the first week of this new year reorganizing my craft supplies and no longer have stacks of paper stored on the ironing board!
ooooooooooooh YES, that is most definitely save-worthy tissue, just WAY too beautiful to toss. i love that the man knew to wrap your gifts in it... he's a keeper as well, lol! so happy you could join us as a Wrap Star at JINGLE BELLES... it would definitely not be the same without you! ♥♥♥
