a retro, pink Christmas adventure
Friday, Leena Girsa pinned this fabulous retro-design Christmas card which went straight to the top of my to-CASE list. Yesterday while driving across Michigan and back, I thought about what colors to use. I didn't want to copy it exactly, but I didn't want to change it much. Finally I decided that pink would perfectly maintain the retro feel, AND would work for the Jingle Belles' Pink Christmas prompt in support of breast cancer research. I was a little busy yesterday, so I left it for another day. Today I was out during the morning, but when I got home early this afternoon, I noticed that the newest Watercooler Challenge had been posted - to CASE a Pinterest project! Well, I cannot fight the universe - this card HAD to be created and posted today:
Kathe, what a fabulous card. I love using my fav Kinda Eclectic for something so out of the box. thank you for sharing your CASE!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathe, thanks for playing along with the watercooler challenges! I like your card and the original pin is great too. I hadn't seen that one yet! Great idea!
ReplyDeleteMambo & Slate ... what an awesome color combination and so perfect for your fun and funky retro design ... so very glad you went PINK for a cause with us at Jingle Belles.
ReplyDeleteOH WOW, missus, what a beautiful and amazing retro-vibe holiday card! you have NAILED the spirit of the pinned card, while totally making it your own!!! thanks for rockin’ the pink with us again at JINGLE BELLES for an awesome cause! <3
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely STUNNING! The graphic appeal of this card pulled me in from the Jingle Belles gallery. WOW!
ReplyDeleteHi Kathe, love your take on this card! Interesting how the universe conspired to make you post it. ;) What makes the card even more special is that the Jingle Belles are donating $4 for each card that includes pink. Something wonderful during Breast Cancer Awareness month. My friend's mother just lost her battle last Friday.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Cool design!
