new year, new adventures

Do I say that every year?  I think it every year; sometimes, I think it every day.  This year, my newest adventure is the Documented Life Project™ 2016: the unPlanner™.

I can't remember how I found it, but I'm glad I did!  I've learned about, and tried my hand at art journaling, but I find it intimidating.  I've never really been interested in scrapbooking, although I have made a few stand-alone pages.  I've always used planner/calendars, and I've kept a few from past years.  I'm also really good at list-making.  The DLP project is a kind of mixed-media mashup of all four, with Artist Trading Cards thrown in, as well.  Doesn't that sound like amazing fun?
I started really slowly, with a clearance-sale, pre-decorated binder that came with a lot of card stock pages (I think it was meant as a "smash" style journal).  I received a sweet paper planner/calendar from Stampin' Up!® when I attended OnStage, but it had a flimsy cover and too many blank pages.  I combined them and added in a lot of other spare paper-crafting stash.

I made my ATC/Pocket Art Card using Can You Case It's CYCI#101 color challenge of purples, blues, and neutrals (gold is a neutral, right?).  But then I felt bad about not including a real Stampin' Up!® project, so I switched gears and used the colors (but not the theme - is that allowable?) from the Curtain Call Inspiration challenge with the Try Stampin' On Tuesday sketch:
stamp set - Sky is the Limit (Sale-A-Bration); ink - Island Indigo, Versamark; Stampin' Emboss powder - white; card stock - Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay; designer series paper - Perfectly Artistic (Sale-A-Bration): washi tape - Bohemian

Such a great idea! I never thought of decorating the cover of a planner for a sketch or color challenge! Thanks for joining us at Can You Case It?
