adventures with acetate

Doesn't the sketch at Stamp, Ink, Paper look just like a snow globe? OK, maybe it's just me, because I hadn't used the Sparkly Seasons stamp set + Seasonal Frame thinlits dies bundle that I immediately loved on sight.  I was going to just stamp a fun snow globe scene, but then I remembered that Shopping Our Stash would like us to use acetate, and I decided it's probably about time I tried a shaker card:
stamp set - Sparkly Season; ink - Soft Sky, Versamark; Stampin' Write markers - Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist, Soft Sky, Basic Gray; Stampin' emboss powder - Iridescent Ice, Silver; card stock - Window sheet, thick Whisper White, Marina Mist; 1/8" silver ribbon, metallic sequins, silver glitter; Big Shot with Seasonal Frame thinlits and Circles Collection framelits dies
I added the little ribbon bow specifically to hit a center-row Tic-Tac-Toe in the Watercooler Wednesday challenge.  It was a good addition, I think, it provides better balance to the design. You can see that better in this view:

Unfortunately, I didn't remember until now that I didn't work in a bit of pink for Jingle Belles.  But before I made the shaker card, I practiced "snow-globe-with-acetate" by adding acetate to Brenda Quintana's fabulous Changing Scene Snow Globe card design, and I did remember the pink for that card :-) :
stamp set - Sparkly Season; ink - Stazon White, Archival Basic Black, Crumb Cake; Stampin' Write markers - Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Soft Sky, Pacific Point, Crumb Cake, Basic Gray, Blushing Bride; card stock - Window sheet, Gold Foil, Crumb Cake thick Whisper White; designer series paper stack - Merry Moments; punch - 1-3/4" circle; Big Shot with Circles Collection framelits and Seasonal Frame thinlits

I was a bit excited and took these photos before I put the sentiment on, but if you click on a photo, it will enlarge, and I think you can see the "snow" I stamped on the acetate, which was why I added it:

Wow, Kathe! That is a wonderful shaker card and I agree that the ribbon balances it perfectly. Love the colours and everything about the card. Of course the second card is also very striking and beautifully crafted. You've outdone yourself with this post. Thanks so much for joining us this week for the Watercooler Wednesday challenge.

Beautiful shakers Kathe. You just put me over the top for needing that stamp set (of course the sale this week doesn't hurt either - lol). Thanks for joining in the challenge this week for Watercooler Wednesday. I agree with Marsha that the blues really suit the snowman. First time I haven't seen that snowman looking a tad angry. He must like you!
