CAS adventure with plaid

What?  You didn't think plaid could be Clean And Simple?  CASology does, and so did I, after I saw the newest layout at  CAS(E) this sketch!:
card stock - Sahara Sand, Cherry Cobbler; designer series paper - Festival of Prints (retired); Big Shot with Christmas Greetings thinlits
For some reason, that striped rectangle in the sketch said "plaid square" to me.  This would have been a simpler card to make, had I not decided to try an inlaid die cut.  This is not an inlaid die cut.  After I cut out the sentiment and rescued the tiny little inside pieces, just gluing them onto a square of card stock seemed like enough of a challenge; thank goodness for the new Fine-tip Glue Pen in our Holiday Catalog! I may revisit the inlaid die cut technique another day, for today I'd just like to link up at Addicted to Stamps for CAS and Christmas Card Challenges where Anything Goes.

Plaid can be CAS when you use it this way, Kathe. Thanks for sending your lovely Christmas card to the ATSM challenge this week.

Well, you certainly did make plaid into a fantastic CAS design!! This is fantastic and you matched the red's together perfectly. I don't blame you for not wanting to inlay this completely, you really have to be in the right frame of mind to deal with all those tiny pieces. Its a brilliant card and I'm so glad you shared it with us at ATSM this week!
