an adventure of changed ideas

Since I didn't have enough Christmas cards at mailing time as a direct result of not keeping up with all the fabulous Christmas card challenges I've found, I'm convinced that the thing to do is just don't stop making Christmas cards - no post-holiday break.  So, I had these snippets of Season of Style designer series paper that I thought would be just right on the Pals Paper Arts sketch; I had roughed in the sketch on my challenge calendar, so I went back to check my proportions and noticed that several people had the same idea!  Even though I CASE (Copy and Share Everything) a lot of my ideas, I still don't want my cards to be too much like too many others, so I changed ideas.  I decided that Modern Medley designer series paper would be just right with the Dynamic Duo black tie color combination this week:
stamp set - Sassy Salutations; ink - Cherry Cobbler; card stock - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler glimmer, Very Vanilla; designer series paper - Modern Medley; punch - Small Heart; Stampin' Dimensionals
OK, it's a great sketch, an elegant color combination, and I like the card - it will work as a Valentine but since I don't send many of them, I think it will work as a general greeting, too - but it doesn't help with my Christmas card conviction.  And there are still all those fabulous Christmas card challenges, like the color challenge at Stampin' Royalty and the photo inspiration at Stampin' Celebration.  So I tried again, this time using the sketch from Paper Craft Crew:
stamp sets - Petite Pairs, Special Season; ink - Gumball Green, Real Red; Stampin' Write markers - Chocolate Chip, Gumball Green, Real Red; card stock - Real Red, Whisper White; designer series paper - Snow Festival (retired); Stampin' Dimensionals
That's more the idea I had in mind!  Now if you'll excuse me, my neighbor dropped off some homemade pumpkin roll - yummm, one of my favorite treats - and I need a last-minute thank you card!
