a productive evening adventure

Did I mention that I'm way short of having enough Christmas cards for mailing this year?  And, that I don't really like to make multiples of the same design?  So, I spent about an hour browsing through challenge sites - awesome sources of inspiration! - and then an hour and a half or so at the crafting table.  Oh, and some half sleeping/half dreaming time, too.  I'm not the only one who plans cards in her sleep am I?

This first card, using the colors from Fab Friday, is the culprit, and I CASEd it from a card Justin Krieger created for another challenge - his combination of Joy to the World with the World Map was just too clever not to copy. It's not as if I planned it from scratch, so I don't know why it was waking me up in the night, thinking about which parts should be which colors:
stamp sets - Joy to the World, World Map; ink - Coastal Cabana; Stampin' Write markers - Gumball Green, Real Red; card stock - Coastal Cabana, Gumball Green, Whisper White; 3/8" stitched satin ribbon - Gumball Green; mini brads - Real Red (retired); Stampin' Dimensionals
I don't know why I have a container of retired Brights mini brads (I hardly ever use brads), but wouldn't the new Candy Dots look yummy on this card?  I have GOT to get me some of those...

The next two cards use the beautiful Winter Frost paper because I think it fits the photo inspiration at House of Cards perfectly, and also works nicely for the Winter prompts at Shopping Our Stash and The Pink Elephant challenges.

First I put the sketch from 'Tis the Season to work:
stamp sets: Festive Flurry, Joy to the World; ink - Island Indigo, Versamark; Stampin' emboss powder - Silver; card stock - Pool Party, Silver Glimmer, Whisper White; designer series paper - Winter Frost; Big Shot with Festive Flurry framelit; 1/8" mini brads - Silver; washi tape - Epic Day Basic Gray
Then I used the sketch from Sunday Stamps:
stamp sets - Festive Flurry, Teeny Tiny Wishes; ink - Versamark; Stampin' emboss powder - Silver; card stock - Coastal Cabana, Brushed Silver; designer series paper - Winter Frost; Big Shot with Northern Flurry embossing folder and Festive Flurry Framelit; Stampin' Dimensionals
So, a good evening's work, but only 10% of the cards I still need are completed.  If I can't make more than 3 per evening, I'm going to have to get started on some multiples...

All of these are great! And yes, I lie in bed at night thinking about cards I want to make - you are not alone! :)

Thanks for joining us at Shopping Our Stash

PS: 10%? Yeah, you might have to do multiples.

Beautiful cards! Love your Joy to the World card! Great job fussy cutting that sentiment and the pop of red brads in the corner is perfect. You're not alone in being behind in making Christmas cards! I have a feeling some people just aren't going to make the cut this year! Thanks for sharing at Fab Friday!
