a CAS(E) sketch duo adventure

I've been wanting to try the new chevron border punch raised on dimensionals over designer series paper, but hadn't really decided on a layout, when it finally occurred to me that it might work with CAS(E) this sketch #55:
stamp set - Teeny Tiny Wishes; ink - Real Red; card stock - Crumb Cake, Real Red; designer series paper - Season of Style; punch - Chevron Border; Stampin' Dimensionals
In spite of having just now realized that I used snippets of a different red than the Cherry Cobbler in the designer series paper, I do have the bonus of being able to take another spin at Pixie's Snippets Playground!

When I drove by the giant nativity scene at the four corners downtown this evening, I was struck by the simple beauty of Mary's blue with so many neutral colors.  I had been thinking of combining Soft Sky with Midnight Muse for the Dynamic Duo, but until then I hadn't thought of how to use that combination.  I used the same sketch, more or less, and added some gold (I can never really decide if that's a neutral):
stamp sets - Best of Christmas, More Merry Messages; ink - Black Stazon, Crumb Cake, Encore Gold, Midnight Muse, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Soft Suede, Versamark, Whisper White Craft; Stampin emboss powder - Gold; card stock - Midnight Muse, Watercolor paper; punch - 3/16" corner

Kathe, don't you just love how what we see in our daily lives inspires us in crafting? Not to mention how inspiring a nativity is reminding us of our Savior's birth. I like how you added the gold to the Midnight Muse background- nice coloring on the image, too! thanks for plauing with the Dynamic Duos this week;)

Hi Kathe, Yes, gold counts as a neutral, and makes for a lovely card! Your gold greeting works as the star in the sky, above the nativity scene below. Simple, cute card, reminding us of "the reason for the season." Thanks for linking up with Dynamic Duos this week.

Two great takes on the sketch! I love the cool modern feel of the first one and the sweet image and gold embossing on the second!

I do love using dies to cut shapes so we can have a peek of pattern paper thru them! Great design! Thanks for joining the Dynamic Duos!
