a White Christmas challenge

Last week while admiring  all the pretty vintage work at Jingle Belles, I decided it was time to do a card in neutrals, or possibly white with a little glimmer.  I thought it would work best with a lot of terrific texture, which is the September cards challenge at Catherine & Cathy Create.  In another fortuitious (what? that's not a real word?)  coincidence, I found this sketch at Christmas Card Challenges:
Well, of course one of the textures needed to be poinsettias (Stampin' Up!® calls them Petals-a-Plenty but we know what they really mean).  Wouldn't you know, Catherine & Cathy Create came to my aid once again in the monthly challenge to use chevrons!

The glimmer I first envisioned morphed to just silver, but I like the final product pretty well, a mix of trendy and traditional:
stamp set - Christmas Messages; ink - Versamark; Stampin' emboss powder - Silver; card stock - Brushed Silver, Shimmery White, Whisper White; Big Shot with Chevron and Petals-a-Plenty embossing folders and Delicate Doilies sizzlit; Stampin' Dimensionals

So, although I'm not dreaming of it yet, a White Christmas  (still working on getting the Purple Snowflakes song unstuck from inside my head)  is already in the cards for us!
