adventure with a new technique

I've been meaning to try the chalkboard technique for a few months now.  It's the feature at Technique Time Tuesday this month and the my newest stamp set looks like it could have been done with chalk, so they came together for this:
stamp sets - Wetlands, Sincere Salutations (retired); ink - White craft, uni-ball Signo® Gel pen; white Stampin' emboss powder; card stock - Basic Black, Real Red, Sahara Sand; Big Shot with Houndstooth embossing folder; 7/16" Natural Trim, white Baker's twine, miscellaneous red button (retired); Stampin' sponge, mini glue dots
I love the Wetlands stamp set for men, especially fathers - the theme at Pile It On this week - and it includes a Thinking of You sentiment somewhat smaller than the one I used here.  I pulled it out of my oldest stamp set, Sincere Salutations, for Shopping Our Stash, because I purchased it at the first Stampin' Up!® workshop I ever attended (possibly in 2005?!) and because I wanted something a little larger here.
This card will be one of the choices on the Card Buffet at my new catalog open house Saturday - hope you can stop by!

Great card Kathe! The added touches of frayed ribbon & the button give this masculine card some pop as well as the great stamps used for the chalkboard technique! Thanks for joining us at Technique Time Tuesday! :)
