doubled adventure

Since I've been inactively following along with my two favorite Christmas card challenges, Jingle Belles and Merry Monday, I felt the need to redouble my efforts. I made two cards that each match both challenges this week.  The Belles asked for cards that incorporate (or are inspired by) music and Merry Monday is a sketch challenge. I brought out the paper with the words to O, Christmas Tree for this card:
Stampin' Around wheel - Music Notes; ink - Early Espresso, Versamark; card stock - Cherry Cobbler, Brushed Gold, Sahara Sand; designer series paper - Deck the Hall (retired); Gold Stampin' Emboss powder; Stampin' Dimensionals

I like the Music Notes wheel so well I kept it out for this card:
stamp set - The Sounding Joy; Stampin' Around wheel - Music Notes; ink - Basic Gray, Wild Wasabi, Versamark; card stock - Certainly Celery, Brushed Silver, Wild Wasabi; punches - 2-1/2" circle, Lace Ribbon border (retired); Pewter Stampin' Emboss powder, stamping sponge, Stampin' Dimensionals

Neither of them turned out as wonderful on paper as I envisioned them, but that may be related to the midnight stamping.  Nonetheless, I have two more cards prepared for my stash.  How is yours doing?

edited to add:  While I was working on the second card, I thought I remembered that the color combination was inspired by a Pinterest pin, so I went looking for it this morning.  It's one of Angie's last Color Crush Palettes from Photo Card Boutique.  I wish I'd found her website sooner, but I'm planning to browse through her archives again!

I like both of your 'midnight stamping' cards! I have to agree on that Music Note wheel...really adds a great touch to the border.

Thank you so much for joining us in the Merry Monday challenge!

Both of these are lovely, Kathe, but the second with the star is my very favorite and so appropriate with the musical theme. So glad you joined us at Merry Monday this week!
